We have specially designed a language arts program for students with strong English proficiency who are attending local Chinese elementary schools.

The ASLA program is a literature-based English immersion program using a language arts collection from an education publishing company adopted by many international American schools. The program is very comprehensive and is designed to meet the American standard in language arts for grade 1 - 6. This program allows us to use quality literature as its foundation, and an approach to literacy development, which involves children in all modes of communication: reading, writing, listening, speaking, observing, illustrating, experiencing and doing. Using this program, we can make sure that each child in each grade level will work through and complete the same learning objectives. It will guarantee that from year to year there is a carefully planned and managed program for your child and regardless of the different teaching styles of the teachers, the educational goals and outcomes are in a set sequence for the children to work through. Each of the grade-level texts and workbooks prepare the child for the following year's materials.

To provide a balance between text driven and interest driven curriculum, we also introduce an extension with a cross-curricular approach in other subject areas such as science, social studies, history, music and drama tailored to the interest and English abilities of our students. We welcome students with good English proficiency and age appropriate skills to enroll into our program.
